迈克尔•布罗厄斯是牛津大学的西欧历史教授，牛津大学玛格丽特夫人学堂现代史研究员，曾任普林斯顿高等研究院访问员，也是一位作家。他的很多著作都是关于大革命和拿破仑控制下的欧洲，如《意大利的拿破仑帝国，1796年至1814年》（本书在2006年获拿破仑大奖），以及《拿破仑的其他战争：土匪、叛乱分子以及他们在革命时代的追求》。现居英国。
